A ranked list of the sunniest destinations updates with your choice, and hovering or tapping any point shows its full 12-month sunshine profile, the estimated sunshine hours per year and the share of daylight that is sunny.
It is made for planning travel and holidays around the weather: finding winter sun in Europe, the sunniest months for a beach or kitesurfing trip, or comparing climates before a move. The data is a 1991-2020 climatology derived from the ERA5 reanalysis by Copernicus / ECMWF at 0.25 degree resolution, estimated from surface solar radiation with the Angstrom-Prescott method, with measured sunshine duration for more than 430 cities from Wikipedia shown for comparison.
